Plot[]

Soh Jinhong, the Rosy-Cheeked Sword Fiend[]

She spoke to Yang Jeonghak about Soh Jinhong's battle with Gang Ryong. When the conversation ended, she asked him what his view was on whether Gang Ryong was a worthy successor to the supreme overlord considering Yang Jeonghak was once part of the Heavenly Destruction Sect; he replied that Ryong was a mess and painful to watch. She then said it was a shame but to keep and eye on him as he would have to show his true colours before long.

The Baekma Valley[]

Jin Garyeong confronts Gang Ryong

Jin Garyeong confronts Gang Ryong.

While with Captain Yang Jeonghak in her quarters, they felt what seemed to be an earthquake. Getting a message from a subordinate, she told them to deal with it. A little later, Jin Garyeong was surprised to see Gha Woobok walk in mentioning that she wanted his head. With Jeonghak explaining his methods in bringing Woobok to the Valley, infuriating her, Jeonghak and Woobok had a brief scuffle that was diffused when Garyeong flared her ki in irritation. She then told Jeonghak he'd better explain the situation later before apologising to Woobok for Jeonghak's actions. Recalling that Ryong played with Woobok's kids, she asked who it was that was attacking the Baekma Valley. Going outside, Hwang Gyu appeared and informed her that the Heavenly Destroyer's disciple was assailing the Baekma Valley. Just then, they all felt the mighty after-shocks of a powerful collision and Garyeong rushed over to the scene. Seeing Dang Gan lying still on the floor, she asked Gang Ryong if he was dead, but Ryong replied in a round-about manner, eliciting a fighting response from Garyeong who flared her ki intimidatingly. Dang Gan got up briefly but fell very shortly afterwards due to the serious internal injuries he had sustained. With Yang Jeonghak confirming that Dang Gan was still alive, Ryong then released his heavy ki aura, pinning everyone down. Garyeong asked if Ryong thought Woobok was dead, but he stated he didn't trust their words any longer and demanded they bring Woobok out before exerting his crushing aura even further. Wondering if she would have to take action, Woobok suddenly called out to Ryong from above causing him to relax his aura.

Jin Garyeong interrogates Jeonghak

Garyeong finds out about her mother's plan.

In the evening, in her quarters, Garyeong sternly stated to Yang Jeonghak that he'd better explain all the occurrences of the day or his life would be forfeit. Revealing that he had intentionally caused Gang Ryong to attack the Baekma Valley under the orders of the former Lady of the Valley, Garyeong's exasperation turned into shock; Jeonghak then revealed Garyeong's mother's intentions for inciting Gang Ryong, which further exasperated her. He and Garyeong then discussed Gang Ryong before she asked if "he" was one of "them", with Jeonghak confirming it to be so before adding that only Gha Woobok could ascertain it.

Having summoned Gang Ryong, as his agent, he chewed Garyeong out for not telling him everything about her and the Baekma Valley. Garyeong gave an off-handed response before adding that if he wouldn't listen then she wouldn't tell him that they'd found one of the people Ryong was looking for. As she turned to leave, Gang, exuding an extremely murderous aura, asked her who they'd found. Garyeong informed him that they might have found one of his master's enemies and then humorously coerced him into paying more to receive a confirmation on the person they'd found.

Back in the Valley, Garyeong mused on Gang Ryong's words, as well as Yang Jeonghak's statements about the boy, and then began to wonder upon Ryong's fated outcome.

Stirring[]

Asking if a travel pass and a map was all he needed, Jin Garyeong noted that the extra fee was higher than anticipated but she would put it on his tab. Gang Ryong then asked if the debt could be annulled if he didn't make it back, but Garyeong emphatically refused before sending him on his way.

Season 2 Intro[]

Garyeong teases Yerin

Jin Garyeong teases Yerin.

Encountering Song Yerin, Jin Garyeong tried to get a rise out of her regarding Gang Ryong. With Yerin continuing on her own journey, Garyeong then told Hwang Gyu that she had recently found out where Ryong had disappeared to.

After Gang Ryong returned to the tavern, he met with Jin Garyeong where they discussed what he'd experienced at the Naeseonhyang as well as Garyeong revealing that the other three Four Heavenly Kings may still be alive. Promising to give Ryong the information once it was all compiled, he left. Getting back to the Valley, Garyeong abruptly found out that she had a conclusive piece of evidence with the presence of her visitor.

Mak Sapyeong[]

Having been put in a moral bind by Mak Sapyeong, Jin Garyeong orchestrated the disappearances of Gang Ryong's friends and acquaintances before leading him into a trap where the Baekma Valley could subdue him. With Ryong realizing just who was attacking, he tried to warn them away but Garyeong told him he'd have to fight properly because she had been put in an unavoidably binding position. With Gang Ryong on the cosh, Garyeong and the rest of the Baekma Valley seemingly subdued him.

Jin Garyeong defeats the Gu minions

The Baekma Valley counter attacks!

Bringing a decoy posed as the captured Gang Ryong, to Mak Sapyeong's domain, Jin Garyeong stated they'd only hand him over once Sapyeong fulfilled his end of the deal. With the Heavenly King ultimately proving he wouldn't uphold his end, and with Garyeong becoming aware that Soh Jinhong had completed his role, she threatened Sapyeong until the latter revealed his secret weapon: seemingly implacable mindless warriors. Making quick work of the minions, she was soon informed by Gha Woobok that they were infested by Gu worms (explaining their unrelenting nature). With the downed minions exploding after taking sufficient damage, an ired Jin Garyeong took chase after Sapyeong after Gha Woobok assured her he could take down the remaining Gu-infested minions. Chasing after Mak Sapyeong, he contently revealed his "present" to her: Garyeong's mother infected by his Gu worms! Shocked and upset by the developments, Garyeong was quickly put into an emotional bind as she combated her Gu-controlled mother. Seeing no other option, she called on her trump card: Gang Ryong himself!

Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect[]

With the recent incident passing, Yang Jeonghak met up with Jin Garyeong and informed her that there was no movement from their enemy, and the latter wondered whether this moment of silence was the calm before the storm.

At some point, the Murim Alliance proposed an alliance with the Baekma Valley and Jin Garyeong accepted. She later accompanied her mother to the Sage Forest for the latter's medical treatment. However, due to the Murim Alliance turning on the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect, the alliance's core factions were completely annihilated by the elite warriors of the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect, the Seven Slayers of the Sky Gorge! Meanwhile at the Sage Forest, her grandfather Goo Hwi tended to her mother before seeing Garyeong off. She then regrouped with Yang Jeonghak and Hwang Gyu, and after finding out about the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect's slaughter of the core factions of the Murim Alliance, she frantically proceeded to organize her forces in response. The Baekma Valley was attacked by four Slayers but a trap was set in place in advance, resulting in the total destruction of the valley. After reuniting with Soh Jinhong and Gang Ryong at the tavern-at-the-fork, they went to their usual meeting place and Garyeong informed Ryong of the remaining Heavenly Kings' whereabouts and then their conversation ended up being an argument about the collateral damage of his path of vengeance.

The morning after Gang Ryong's arduous battle with the two Slayers Nameless and Ze Wungang, resulting in the death of Wungang, Garyeong waited at the Myogak Mountains for news of the aftermath. Yang Jeonghak informed her that they could find no trace of Gang Ryong anywhere and that he was either long gone or concealed within a barrier. With Garyeong focusing in on Jeonghak's last comment, Hwang Gyu suddenly appeared and informed her that the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect had given out an edict to the factions that had pledged allegiance to them which would force the Baekma Valley into action. Some time later, the factions of the Pro-Heavenly Destruction Alliance got ready to swarm Yellow Dragon Mountain in search of Ryong but were stopped by the arrival of the Baekma Valley. At a deadlock, Doh Gyeom suddenly appeared and warned the Pro-Heavenly Destruction Alliance not to take a step further or he would attack without mercy. With them deciding to attack anyway, everyone stopped due to the intervention of Hong Ye-Mong. With the conflict resolved, Garyeong tackled Hong Ye-Mong with a hug and was informed of Yongbi and Goo Hwi's plans of meeting the leaders of the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect. They then went to the tavern to enjoy a meal.

With the two elders having negotiated that the conflict be resolved with a duel between champions, Jin Garyeong was chosen as one of the participants. After her grandfather returned to their base and discussed the details of the upcoming fight, she bid him farewell as he set out for battle alongside Yongbi. Not long after, Garyeong entered the fray as well, encountering Du Chun as her opponent. Not long after, Jin Garyeong killed Du Chun with relatively ease and set her sights upon the Sect's headquarters in the Sky Gorge Mountain. Then, as she made her way to the enemies' headquarters on the mountain, she coincidently ran into Doh Gyeom and Soh Jinhong who just arrived as well after winning their own battles. In the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect's base, they encountered the leader Hyeol Bi and the trio engages him in battle shortly after. The trio put up a valiant effort against the Black Dragon King but eventually fell to his terrifying techniques. Moments after their defeat, Gang Ryong arrived and Hyeol Bi shifted his focus onto him. As Ryong and Hyeol Bi fought, the trio regained consciousness and watched as Hyeol Bi undergoes a monstrous transformation and overpowered the young man. Then Garyeong and her allies attacked Hyeol Bi to save Ryong only to receive catastrophic injuries in return.

Ilgak later stumbled upon her and her unconscious allies and Garyeong regained consciousness after the monk gave her medical aid. She then stayed with Hong Ye-Mong and the rest of the party the entire time while Goo Hwi, Yongbi, and Gang Ryong fought the remaining enemies. When Goo Hwi was critically injured in his fight against Okcheonbi, Garyeong rushed over to him and desperately urged him to wake up. Ilgak then examined her grandfather and assured her that his injuries were not life threatening.

Loose Ends[]

One year later, Jin Garyeong had a meeting with Doh Gyeom and relayed intel on his uncle's whereabouts to him. She then offered to help him out but the Iron Lion declined before leaving. Hwang Gyu observed him from inside and concluded that Gyeom would make a big mess with Garyeong commenting that she thought he was a pushover and never seen that side to Gyeom before. After calling Gyeom cute, she questioned Hwang Gyu for news on two people they are looking for but Hwang Gyu brushed it off as unimportant (since Jin Garyeong called Doh Gyeom cute for not being a pushover, Hwang Gyu wasw trying to not seem like one as well by ignoring her orders). After a moment of awkward silence, Hwang Gyu embarrassingly admits he was acting out of line and Garyeong sent him flying into the air.

Some time later, Hwang Gyu and Jin Garyeong camped near the island Doh Gyeom's uncle is on, revealing that they were the ones responsible for holding him there. He gave a report to her about the uncle's status and then she wondered why Gyeom wasn't making a move. After returning to their compound, Hwang Gyu relayed a report that Doh Gyeom was being trained by Sage Forest elders Heukweol and Yeonhwa, and then the two had a discussion about the couple.

Some time later after Soh Jinhong killed the Old Man, Yang Jeonghak and Jin Garyeong had a conversation about Soh Jinhong's whereabouts. After Garyeong noted that it was unfair her mother kept Jeonghak's identity as an agent from the Grand General's Command secret from her, he apologized and commented that his job demanded a lot of secrecy and that her mother probably did not want her to get involved with imperial officials. After confirming that he was returning to his organization, Jeonghak questioned Garyeong if Gang Ryong was still staying at the tavern-at-the-fork but to his shock, she told him that she doesn't know where he lived (he later found out that she acted this way because Song Yerin was pregnant with Gang's child).

Five years later, at the Baekma Valley, Hwang Gyu informed herthat Soh Jinhong had returned to the Valley and intended to stay there. He then reported that a visitor had arrived. Doh Gyeom entered the room and jovially had a conversation with Garyeong. After Gang leaves, Garyeong told Gyeom that even though she liked strong men, she also liked those that try to surpass their own limits, and agreed to go on an outing with him.

Powers & Abilities[]

Jin Garyeong stomps

With her heritage and position as leader of a renowned Murim faction deemed to be the direct successors of the Sage Forest, Jin Garyeong definitely lives up to her expectations, possessing extremely formidable power.[1] She was confident enough to combat Gang Ryong when the latter was rampaging in the Baekma Valley and was unaffected by the immense weight of his exerted Ki aura.[2] Garyeong also seems to be able to use at least basic illusion techniques, as she was able to deceive her mother into thinking she had been cut down.[3] Even Du Chun, a powerful warrior of the Revived Heavenly Destruction Sect, was completely dominated in a clash by her while she came out virtually unscathed.[4] She also mentioned that she had been taught martial arts by numerous masters.[5]

Immense Inner Ki: Jin Garyeong has been shown to possess enough inner ki to destroy her immediate surroundings through its exertion alone, in addition to destroying Yang Jeonghak's illusion wall in the process.[6] She was also able to easily slice through relatively powerful warriors and completely block powerful explosions using only a cloth imbued with her powerful inner ki.[7][8]

Immense Physical Strength: In addition, Jin Garyeong possesses incredible physical strength, being able to completely shatter and break through solid physical structures as well as combat other gosu using nothing more than a cloth imbued with her inner ki.

Immense Durability & Endurance: She demonstrated incredible endurance and durability, being able to continue fighting on without issue despite being severly injured by Hyeol Bi's powerful Demonic Techniques.

Weapons[]

Cloth Manipulation: Jin Garyeong primarily uses a strip of cloth or in other cases, her scarf, in battle. She is able to manipulate the cloth to block attacks as well as to bind the enemy. Once she binds her enemies, she is capable of forming spikes from the cloth to impale them all over.[9] Furthermore, she has martial arts techniques based around the use of her scarf.

As the White Jade Martial Empress, Jin Garyeong possesses tremendous skill in a yet unknown martial art said to be comparable to the Divine Heavenly Destruction Techniques by the reckonings of Mak Sapyeong:[10]

In addition, she demonstrated the use of the formidable Black Wind Palm and various other techniques:
